A weekly comparison thread. The point is to share how you choose, so newer members learn the questions to ask — not to crown a winner.
Worth comparing
- Spread-only and commission-plus-raw-spread accounts can cost the same — or very differently — depending on how often and how large you trade.
- Overnight financing (swap), currency conversion and inactivity fees often matter more than the headline spread.
- Check the regulator's register for the exact entity you are opening an account with.

A method that works for me on paper is to model a typical month: estimate your number of trades, average size, holding period (for swap), and the currency pairs you use, then total spread or commission, swap, conversion and inactivity fees. Run that same scenario through each broker's published fee schedule and compare the totals, not the headline spread. What trade volume are you assuming when you compare, and do you hold positions overnight much?
